Support the Columbia Pro Cantare Columbia Pro Cantare is a nationally recognized mixed chorus of auditioned volunteer singers based in Howard County which seeks to present the finest choral literature in concerts of high artistic quality to a growing regional audience. It aspires to provide enriching musical experiences for musicians and non-musicians alike The Columbia Pro Cantare invites all who appreciate its music to help financially - by supplying in kind services, supporting fundraising activities, donating cash and other assets and encouraging friends to purchase tickets and participate in the musical experiences offered by the diverse concerts produced each season. To accomplish its mission and keep its prices affordable, the Columbia Pro Cantare must raise 30% of its budget each year from individual and corporate donations in an Annual Fund campaign. In 2002, an Endowment Fund was established under the management of the Columbia Foundation. Contributions to the endowment fund ensure the long term stability of the Pro Cantare and allow it to concentrate on its mission of providing enriching musical experiences to both singers and to our audience. Did you know our 2012-2013 Season is our 36th? As we make plans to celebrate, we need to begin raising funds now so we can continue to bring beautiful, uplifting choral music to our Howard County community. So we are asking you, our friends and supporters, to help us by making a contribution of $36 for our 36th year! THE MYTHS:
You may wonder why we are asking for money again, and maybe you have
even asked yourself some of these questions: Myth:
"Wealthy donors take care of contributions - my thirty-five bucks
can't make that Myth:
"Choral singing?? Shouldn't I send my charitable dollars to third
world countries?" Compared to non-singers, adult choristers are more frequent voters, volunteers, and civic leaders, and are much more likely to contribute to philanthropic causes. So in a way, a contribution to a chorus might eventually make an even greater impact on that third world country (not to mention your own community)! Thank you for your past assistance and for considering helping CPC celebrate our 35th Anniversary Season; to make a gift, you can use this form or donate online directly. Whether it's a stunning performance of Handel’s Messiah with full orchestra and soloists, a student who experiences live music for the first time, a new audience member touched by a concert, or a homeless person who finds a moment of joy through our outreach ticket offers, your donation will change our community for the better. All our thanks, The 130+ Singers, Staff, and Board of Columbia Pro Cantare PS: Also this year we continue a new tradition: the Singathon at the Mall in Columbia, a new opportunity to contribute and recognize members of the chorus by name. Simply: 1) click on the "Columbia Pro Cantare" button below to get to PayPal, then 2) in PayPal type in your Donation amount, and 3) in the Purpose box type the word "Singathon" and the name(s) of chorus members you wish to recognize. Gifts to the Annual and Endowment Funds are typically acknowledged for one year in all of Pro Cantare's concert programs. For your convenience, donations, including to the Singathon, may be made using credit cards through PayPal by using the "Columbia Pro Cantare" button below:
Alternatively, if you wish to use a check, a Donation Form is available. Individual contribution levels to the Annual Fund are:
